Conveyor Idler Supports Belt, Cuts Friction, Reduces Energy and Wear

Product Details
Haihui conveyor idlers are custom manufactured according to specific customer requirements. No two material handling applications are exactly alike. Standard catalog idlers may work for some installations, but demanding conditions often require tailored solutions.
Haihui engineers work directly with customers to determine the correct specifications for each project. The process begins with a detailed review of operating conditions, including material type, belt width, load capacity, belt speed, environmental factors, and expected service life.
Custom Tube Diameter and Wall Thickness
The idler tube diameter and wall thickness are selected based on load requirements and belt width. Heavier loads and wider belts require larger diameters and thicker walls to prevent deflection. For lightweight applications, thinner walls reduce material cost and idler weight.
Bearing Selection
Bearings are chosen according to load, speed, and operating temperature. Standard deep-groove ball bearings suit most applications. For high-load or high-speed conditions, special bearing grades or larger bearing sizes are available. Bearing seals are selected based on dust and moisture exposure.
Shaft Configuration
Shaft diameter, material, and end machining are customized to fit the conveyor frame. Shaft ends may be turned, threaded, or flat-spotted depending on the mounting requirement. For heavy-duty applications, larger shaft diameters reduce deflection and extend bearing life.
Sealing System
The sealing arrangement is tailored to the environment. Standard labyrinth seals handle moderate dust. For fine, abrasive dust or high-moisture conditions, additional seal stages or contact seals are added. For washdown applications, stainless steel seals with enhanced water resistance are available.
Coating and Surface Protection
Idler tubes receive surface protection based on the operating environment. Standard paint suits dry, indoor applications. Electro-galvanized zinc-aluminum coating provides corrosion resistance for humid or mildly corrosive conditions. Hot-dip galvanizing offers heavy-duty protection for marine, chemical, or outdoor installations. Stainless steel tubes are available for severe corrosion applications.
Quality Assurance
Each custom idler is inspected for dimensional accuracy, rotation resistance, seal integrity, and coating quality before shipment. Test reports are provided upon request.
Customer Collaboration
Drawings are prepared and submitted for customer approval before production begins. This collaborative approach ensures correct fit, reliable performance, and long service life.
