The complete set of new intelligent livestock feeding systems, developed and manufactured by Haihui Group, was recently successfully installed in Nie Rong County, Nagqu City, Tibet Autonomous Region. The systems passed their no-load trial run on the first attempt, earning high praise from industry experts and the client organisation. The ‘Thousand Livestock, Thousand Mu’ intelligent feeding project is one of the key aid-to-Tibet initiatives and marks the first large-scale implementation of intelligent feeding equipment in Tibet’s high-altitude, cold regions. Since the project’s commencement, it has received significant attention and strong support from the local government.

Naqu City is situated in a high-altitude, cold region with extremely unique climatic conditions. It is not until May each year that temperatures barely rise to a level suitable for construction work, making the project schedule exceptionally tight and the tasks extremely demanding. Although the plains are already in full spring bloom with pleasant weather in May, Nagqu City—3,500 kilometres away from the plains—remains a scene of bitterly cold winds and snow-covered landscapes typical of deep winter. Even more challenging is the fact that the local altitude reaches 4,900 metres, presenting construction workers from the plains with the severe test of altitude sickness.

The company attached great importance to the selection of personnel and exercised strict scrutiny. Nevertheless, the young men from the Intelligent Equipment Department and the Engineering Installation Department showed no fear of the challenges and eagerly volunteered to head to the project site. During the day, they persevered on the front line of construction despite severe altitude sickness; the slightest strenuous activity would immediately trigger a suffocating sensation caused by oxygen deprivation and the terror of a splitting headache. At such times, they could only slowly crouch down and clasp their heads to find some relief; once their condition improved, they would rise and return to work. In the evenings, back at their accommodation, they had to take medication and use oxygen to alleviate the insomnia and nervous agitation caused by altitude sickness. Even in such harsh conditions, these young men braved the wind and snow every day to remain at the site and drive progress, ensuring the smooth advancement of the entire installation process.
