Shifeng Group Power Plant Dust Collector Retrofit Project—Electrostatic-Bag Hybrid Dust Collector

Case study
The No. 2 dust collector retrofit project at Shifeng Group’s power plant, undertaken by Haihui Group’s Desulphurisation and Dust Removal Division, has significantly improved the performance of the electrostatic-bag composite dust collector following a period of operation. This was achieved by carrying out leak detection and repair welding, as well as changing the sealing material of the bypass flue damper to enhance the seal.
According to on-site monitoring by the Liaocheng City Environmental Testing Centre, the particulate matter emission concentration from Shifeng’s No. 2 electrostatic-bag composite dust collector was 6.7–7.0 mg/m³, which is below the national emission standard of ≤30 mg/m³. Compared to the pre-retrofit level of 16–17 mg/m³, this represents a 23% improvement in the dust removal efficiency of the original baghouse dust collector.
Against the backdrop of increasingly severe air pollution, Haihui Group’s Desulphurisation and Dust Removal Division operates as a technical team integrating R&D, engineering design, project management, and commissioning and operation. It comprises a team of technical personnel with many years’ experience in industrial flue gas desulphurisation and dust removal, including two experts, with senior and intermediate-level technical and management staff accounting for over two-thirds of the team. For many years, the division has formed strategic partnerships with leading universities and research institutes, dedicating itself to research and the development of various advanced technologies. It is capable of formulating solutions and optimising designs based on clients’ specific circumstances, thereby delivering optimal returns on investment. The division also maintains three dedicated construction teams with extensive experience in the installation and commissioning of desulphurisation and dust removal projects. These teams ensure that clients receive satisfactory results that meet both quality and quantity standards.
The successful technical upgrade of the No. 2 dust collector at Shifeng Group’s power plant serves as a valuable reference for further reducing atmospheric pollutant concentrations and improving current air quality. It also provides significant guidance for the design and construction of similar electrostatic-bag composite dust collector projects.
