Heavy-Duty Comb-Type Idler for Cleaning Sticky Material Off Conveyor Belt

Product Details
Haihui comb-type idlers are manufactured using high-quality rubber rings. While ensuring excellent operational performance, these idlers offer a comprehensive set of advantages including wear resistance, fatigue resistance, corrosion resistance, anti-aging properties, and good elasticity.
What Is a Comb-Type Idler?
A comb-type idler is a specialized conveyor idler designed primarily for the return side of the belt. It features a series of rubber rings mounted along the roller surface, forming a comb-like profile. As the belt passes over the idler, the protruding rubber rings flex and snap against the belt surface, dislodging sticky material that has adhered to the belt.
Premium Rubber Ring Material
The rubber rings are made from high-grade elastomer compounds. Material selection focuses on balancing hardness, flexibility, and durability. Softer rubber provides better cleaning action but wears faster. Harder rubber lasts longer but may not flex enough to dislodge tenacious material. Haihui uses an optimized compound that achieves both effective cleaning and long service life.
Wear Resistance
The rubber compound is formulated to withstand continuous friction against the belt surface. Abrasion-resistant additives reduce material loss over time, extending the interval between ring replacements.
Fatigue Resistance
Comb-type idlers undergo cyclic flexing as each rubber ring repeatedly contacts and releases the belt. The rubber compound is engineered to resist crack formation under this repeated loading, preventing premature ring failure.
Corrosion Resistance
The rubber material itself is inert to many chemicals. Unlike steel idlers that rust in wet or acidic conditions, the rubber rings maintain their properties in humid environments, around fertilizers, or in chemical plants.
Anti-Aging Properties
Ultraviolet radiation, ozone, and temperature cycling cause rubber to harden and crack over time. Haihui rubber rings include stabilizers and antioxidants that slow this degradation, preserving flexibility and cleaning effectiveness.
Good Elasticity
Elasticity is critical to comb-type idler function. The rubber rings must flex when contacting the belt, then snap back to their original shape. High elasticity ensures consistent cleaning action throughout the service life.
Application Benefits
Using comb-type idlers reduces carryback, the material that sticks to the belt and falls off along the return path. Less carryback means cleaner walkways, reduced cleanup labor, and lower risk of belt damage from trapped material.
