Weiqiao Group’s Project to Upgrade Electrostatic Precipitators to Electrostatic-Bag Hybrid Dust Collectors

Case study
During the implementation of the project to upgrade the electrostatic precipitators at Weiqiao Group’s alumina subsidiary to electrostatic-bag hybrid dust collectors, Haihui Group boldly pursued technological innovation. The company actively optimised the upgrade plan at every stage—from design drawings and process layout to installation schemes—ensuring that all technical indicators met high industry standards. In particular, the project demonstrated excellent overall performance in maximising the use of the existing site, effectively controlling investment costs, and achieving effective operational results following the commissioning of the equipment.
The existing electrostatic precipitators at Weiqiao Group’s alumina subsidiary had been in continuous operation for over a decade, with key standard components generally showing signs of wear and ageing. During the early stages of the project, several of the original electric fields temporarily ceased to function properly, severely impacting the production line’s compliance with environmental standards and its continuous operation.
Guided by the principle of minimising the client’s investment costs and delivering optimal operational outcomes, Haihui Group swiftly established a dedicated project task force. Company management and staff leading the on-site construction team went deep into the front lines to conduct a comprehensive analysis and compilation of issues across multiple aspects, including equipment structure, electrical control, airflow distribution and electrode configuration, systematically investigating potential causes of faults item by item. At this critical juncture, the entire workforce was united in purpose and effort; facing technical challenges and complex on-site conditions, they rose to the occasion, fully demonstrating the Haihui spirit of perseverance and determination in tackling tough challenges.
Through relentless effort, the project ultimately achieved gratifying results. Continuous monitoring by the online detection system showed that the dust emission concentration at Weiqiao Group’s alumina subsidiary, following the retrofit, consistently met ultra-low emission standards. All electric fields operated smoothly and reliably, with all performance indicators meeting or exceeding expectations.
